THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 2007 BUT ITS FITS THE HIDEOUS CRIMES WE HAVE NOW. PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO CARRY A GUN ACCORDING TO THE 2ND AMENDMENT ,,,WHEN THAT AMENDMENT WAS WRITTEN , THE GUNS OF THAT TIME WERE THE MUSKET BALL GUNS, SO IF YOU WANT TO BE FAIR AND IN YOUR RIGHTS , GET A MUSKET BALL GUN !!! Submitted by dan mckeown, Apr 30, 2007 05:30 '''The constitution allows everyone the authority to own a weapon. When it was written its constructors had no way of knowing that technology would create far more powerful and destructive guns. They used muskets during the revolution and every gun owner knows that a musket is barely as deadly as a bow and arrow. During the civil war and world war 11 great advances in weapons technology followed by greater losses of life. This trend continues today and our lawmakers have a duty to enact legislation to prevent these weapons from being bought on internet or at vendors. Those who advocate fighting terrorism should realize that "terrorists" always prosper in societies with loose gun control such as those in Africa and the middle east where guns are not under great restriction. The hypothesis that we need to own weapons for protection is countered by insurance rates, which go up if a family owns a gun. It has been demonstrated time and time again that a gun owner is 100 to 1000 times more likely to accidently or in a fit of rage, kill another family member, than a robber. But perhaps some guns can still be allowed, for all the itchy trigger fingers out there. Just not the Semi-automatic guns that killed some of the brightest minds of our nation.'''

THE HOLIDAYS

the holiday season is the best time of year. its spending time with family and friends, having dinner and watching the kids open their gifts. the best part is the decorating, people really go all out with their decorations. the yards are decorated in such a way that one should be given a prize or blue ribbon for 'best creation ' or something. houses are works of art, so bright and colorful. a lot of imagination goes into how one decorates their yards these days. the stores put out their christmas stock earlier each year which i think is somewhat good as it gives people more time to buy the decorations they need for their houses ,whether to decorate as they had last year or try something new. to go with all blue lights or use plenty of colored lights, putting plastic santas on the lawn that light up or just doing window lighting on each window. putting santas around the house or just one awesome looking santa on the fireplace mantle if one has a fireplace. the best question is what to put out for santa when he stops by ! cookies and milk ? well, he's getting a little more jollier so maybe some sugar-free munchies and a bottled water ? so many decisions to make, to make the christmas holiday a special one. do we bring out fave ornaments from the past years? either ones given to us or ones the kids made. decisions, decisions. but always a fun time of year to decorate. at the same time we should ''decorate'' our hearts , fill it with memories that will last a lifetime and to think back on all the memories from the past years with loved ones that aren't with us anymore. those memories are the special ones as they help us get through christmas without them. we think of the troops not able to be home with their loved ones around the holidays. and we should always remember the reason for the season, while we're making that mad dash to grab that one special item that will be the prefect gift for a loved one....remember the PREFECT gift that was given to all of us , he is the reason for the season..
